BOONE COUNTY, Ky. —

A shelter-in-place order has been lifted for Walton-Verona Elementary and Intermediate schools after a crash led to a search by Boone County deputies Wednesday morning.

According to the Walton-Verona Independent School District, a crash occurred around 8 a.m. on KY-14, with one of the people involved fleeing the scene on foot. Advertisement

In response, officials say several Boone County Sheriff's Department units responded to the area to conduct a search, with deputies using both drone resources and K-9 units to locate the individual.
