Tony Maudsley has said one of his friends and co-stars is 'back to play' as fans quickly responded to their Coronation Street return.

The actor, best known for playing George Shuttleworth in the ITV soap, has been excited for Amy Robbins' return to Weatherfield in the role of Christina Boyd.

The character was last seen on the cobbles earlier this year, after being double crossed by her daughter, Daisy Midgeley. As fans saw, Christina was in cahoots with Daisy to scam Jenny Connor out of a windfall.

However, Daisy rumbled that Christina was working with catfish Dom, who was there to fleece Jenny out of her cash by acting as a new love interest who could double her investment, and instead of confronting her, got her hands on the cash herself and did a runner to Bali.
