EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University Police and Public Safety is alerting football fans to a growing number of ticket scams as the MSU football season gets underway.

According to police, scammers are posing as MSU students online and attempting to sell fraudulent student section tickets.

These scams are often carried out through social media platforms and unverified online marketplaces.

MSU Police is urging fans to only purchase student section tickets through SeatGeek and to never purchase tickets from unofficial sources or random online sellers.
