A North Iowa man faces multiple felony charges for allegedly breaking into Sparboe in Goodell and stealing cooper wire from inside and outside the building.

Bret Michael Freiberg, 46, Charles City, has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony; one count of first-degree theft, a Class C felony; one count of first-degree criminal mischief, a Class C felony; and three counts of third-degree burglary, a Class D felony.

He had his initial appearance in Hancock County District Court on Wednesday morning. He is being held on $60,000 cash or surety bond.

According to charging documents, Freiberg broke into Sparboe on Feb. 9, Feb. 16 and April 9, causing more than $10,000 in damage.

The value of the copper and other goods stolen from the business was more than $10,000.
