NEW YORK — Giancarlo Stanton took his time getting out of the box. He stood and admired his work for an extra second or two before strutting forward and flipping his bat toward the Yankees ’ dugout.

Stanton then stepped into his home run trot, which has been a familiar sight over these last several weeks.
