WASHINGTON — Spotify is giving users a new way to share songs, podcasts and audiobooks directly in the app.
The streaming service has announced its brand new Messages feature will begin rolling out to Free and Premium users aged 16 and older in select markets. The feature creates one-on-one conversations where people can share content, react with emojis and send texts without leaving the Spotify app.
Spotify said users have asked for “a dedicated space within the app to share songs, podcasts, or audiobooks they’re excited about with friends and family, and an easy way to keep track of recommendations.”
The service added that recommendations remain one of the most powerful ways for listeners to discover new music and shows, with friends and family already sharing Spotify content millions
