Oregon state economists said on Aug. 27 that they predict revenue for the two-year budget cycle that began July 1 will be down more than $888 million from projections they made in May , and the state's surplus will end up being short some $373 million.

President Donald Trump's ' One Big Beautiful Bill Act ' is the biggest factor in the revised projections, said senior economist Michael Kennedy.

The federal reconciliation bill is expected to result in a $15 billion loss in federal funding to Oregon over the next six years, according to Gov. Tina Kotek's office.

State economists said General Fund revenues in the 2025-2027 biennium will total $34.9 billion, down from the previously projected $35.6 billion.
