ARP, Texas — Arrest documents reveal Arp Elementary Assistant Principal Karla Florence lied about her son's age and failed to report that her son impregnated a 14-year-old girl inside her home.

Karla Florence is charged with failure to report and false report to a peace officer, while her 21-year-old son Blake Florence is charged with sexual assault of a child and tampering with physical evidence. Both were arrested on Tuesday.

According to arrest affidavits, a now 16-year-old girl began dating Blake Florence when she was 14 years old and he was a 19-year-old. She became pregnant at 14 in 2023 and she gave birth to the child in last summer.
