GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Bradford Gille, 42, already had a long history of mental illness with a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder before he was arrested for digging up a grave in Petoskey. He said he believed his father had been buried alive.

Below is a timeline of his treatment in the mental health system since based on probate court records from Emmet, Presque Isle and Cheboygan counties.

April 16, 2016: Gille digs up a grave and tries to break open vault at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey. He also knocks over tombstones. He is charged with dead bodies, disinterment and mutilation, and malicious destruction of tombs and memorials.
