BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Jefferson County judge has agreed to revoke bond for a man accused of threatening a witness, according to court records.
Willie Edward McBride was out on bail for assault and firearm charges when Birmingham Police said he threatened a man expected to testify in a preliminary hearing or trial.
Court records do not list the victim as a witness in McBride’s pending cases.
McBride was arrested on Aug. 20 for assault first degree and felon in possession of a firearm. The charges are related to a shooting on Aug. 17. McBride, who has a prior assault conviction, is accused of shooting a man and seriously wounding him.
He made bail and is accused of threatening the witness on Aug. 21. Prosecutors filed a motion to revoke McBride’s bond on Aug. 25.
