Monsoon season is in full force in the American Southwest, and Utah's most famous national park, Zion, is bearing the brunt of the latest storms.

Late on August 26, a temporary closure was issued for all of the slot canyons in Zion National Park due to the risk of flash flooding . While the closure has been lifted as of publication, more storms are in the forecast, and park rangers may quickly have to close the popular hiking areas.
