EAST LANSING – More than five years ago, Michigan State football announced a future three-game series against Central Michigan.

The contract called for the Spartans to shell out $1.75 million for a 2023 season-opening game against the Chippewas, who apparently brought an unauthorized visitor with them.

According to the NCAA’s investigative report released earlier this month about Michigan’s sign-stealing saga, then-Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions “attended that game in part to decipher Michigan State’s signals, but also to help a Central Michigan staff member with play calling.” Images that appear to show Stalions wearing CMU gear and sunglasses during a night game began circulating during the 2023 season and he resigned that November.
