Scotty Bowman took over a team that kept experiencing early playoff exits and got them over the top. Larry Murphy was the final piece for the team that ended a 42-year Stanley Cup championship drought in 1997.

But before they experienced success with the Detroit Red Wings, they helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win back-to-back championships in the early 90s.

That’s why Bowman and Murphy are among 10 players and builders who will be inducted into the Penguins Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Oct. 25.

The Penguins are relaunching the team’s Hall of Fame, which was introduced in 1992 and ran intermittently until the most recent induction in 2013.

Bowman, 91, and Murphy, 64, were natural selections.
