HANNIBAL (WGEM) - A man was arrested on Wednesday after a series of property damage incidents in downtown Hannibal overnight.

According to the Hannibal Police Department, at 6:01 a.m., officers responded to the Marion County Courthouse for a report of property damage.

While canvassing the area, the officer saw eight other incidents of property damage on Broadway.

Police said the suspect was taken to the Marion County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold while the investigation is conducted.

Police are encouraging residents and business owners in downtown to inspect their properties and report any damage to HPD.
