A 17-year-old boy driving a stolen car led authorities on a high-speed chase across multiple Bay Area freeways early Wednesday morning before crashing in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The teen reached speeds up to 130 mph during the pursuit, which covered parts of Interstate 680, Interstate 280 and Highway 87 in Santa Clara and Alameda counties, the CHP said.
At about 2:15 a.m., Dublin CHP officers spotted the stolen car on northbound I-680, south of Vargas Road, as it was fleeing from San Jose CHP officers, according to the CHP.
Dublin CHP officers followed the driver as he exited the freeway at Vargas Road and back onto northbound I-680, the CHP said. Officers tried to pull him over, but he exited at Sheridan Road and got back on I-680, this time heading in the
