A surge in Bay Area rent prices are making it even more expensive to live here.

According to rent tracker Zumper, rent prices in San Francisco are the second most expensive in America, behind New York City.

Zumper’s national report found that rents in San Francisco are now above $3,400 a month for a typical one-bedroom apartment, an 8% jump from this time last year.

Both San Francisco and San Jose are seeing demand rise, as more tech workers are getting called back into the office.
