GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — U.S. Rep Mikie Sherrill, D-11th, says she'll prioritize improving public transit, housing and public safety in Atlantic City and beyond if she’s sworn in as the state’s next governor in January.

“I promise you Atlantic City won’t be left behind in my administration,” Sherrill said. "I will take on anyone, including members of my own party, to move this state, this county and this city forward.”

Sherrill visited Seaview, A Dolce Resort, on Wednesday to meet with members of the Greater Atlantic City Chamber and provide insight into what policies she’ll champion for the region. It was one of several events she had scheduled in the county that day, including meet-and-greets with groups in Absecon and Ventnor.
