A day after paring their active roster down to 53 players , the New Orleans Saints have their practice squad in place — for the most part.

The Saints announced a 15-man practice squad Wednesday afternoon. Because one of those players is kicker Charlie Smyth, who doesn't count toward the 16-man limit because he came to the Saints through the International Player Pathway, New Orleans still has two open spots on its practice squad.

Two of the players the Saints waived on cut day — linebacker D'Marco Jackson (Bears) and corner Rico Payton (Giants) were claimed by other teams through the waiver process. The rest of the Saints cuts made it through and were eligible to re-sign on the practice squad.
