OOLITIC — The Town of Oolitic has issued a boil order for a portion of its residents, effective immediately and until further notice.

The order was put in place as a precautionary measure following the removal of an old fire hydrant.

The boil order affects residents located from 5th Street North to Main Street and west of Hoosier Avenue.

During a boil order, residents in the affected area are advised to boil all water for drinking, cooking, and food preparation for at least one minute before use. The town will provide an update when the boil order is lifted.
