A Rankin County man was found shot to death inside his home this morning. He had been shot multiple times.

He was identified as 36-year-old William Earl Morris.

According to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, a 911 call was received at 8:53 a.m. related to an unresponsive man at a house on Hwy 80 between Brandon and Pelahatchie.

After deputies arrived, they found Morris dead inside his home with multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies and investigators with the sheriff’s office have been following up on multiple leads since the initial call this morning and will continue to do so through the night. They mentioned they have several persons of interest.
