Spotify has introduced a new direct messaging feature called Messages, allowing users to send messages within the app.

Previously, users could share Spotify links via external platforms like text or social media, but now sharing and messaging is integrated directly.

The big picture: Messages enable users to share songs, podcasts and audiobooks with others they have interacted with on Spotify. • Suggested contacts for messaging include people who have joined shared playlists and members of users’ Family or Duo plans. • The DM feature can be accessed from the Now Playing screen by selecting the share icon, choosing a friend, and sending the message. • To use Messages, users must be at least 16 years old.
