DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – There are a host of options to get to the Farm Progress Show in Decatur. Some drive their personal vehicles, others take a bus and many are choosing to fly in.
From small planes to larger corporate jets, the Decatur Airport has a parking jam. Larger jets are being parked on concrete and pavement, while smaller planes park in the grass.
After 20 years of the Farm Progress Show in the city, the airport has the parking issue well in hand. Aircraft started to arrive on Monday and have continued throughout the week. Tuesday saw 199 operations, with a bigger day expected for Wednesday.
Passenger service is benefiting from the show. United Express jet flights into Decatur have seen full planes so far, with people headed to the Farm Progress Show.
