The Trump administration has proposed implementing a cap on the length of foreign student visas as part of an effort to ensure the timely departure of those who enter the country.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Wednesday afternoon that it proposed a rule to limit the amount of time that certain visa holders, including students, can remain in the United States.
