ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Construction crews put the highest beam in place on Wednesday as Mercy South marked another milestone in its quest to double the size of its emergency room.
The renovations include more patient beds, trauma bays and a larger waiting area to meet the growing demand at the emergency room. In July, Mercy South officials said they saw more than 200 patients a day.
The project is expected to be finished in the Spring of 2027.
