RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Nordstrom store at the St. Louis Galleria has officially closed, ending nearly 14 years at the mall.
The store shut down on Sunday, but some shoppers still arrived days later, hoping to get inside.
“I tried the door, and I’m disappointed they’re gone,” longtime customer Carole Simon said.
Shoppers like Simon say the signs were there in recent months. She noticed fewer items in stock and said the store no longer felt the same.
“They weren’t stocking the merchandise the way they used to,” she said. “The handwriting was on the wall, but you still hope it won’t happen.”
The store opened in 2011.
The company did not give a specific reason for closing the Galleria location, but officials previously confirmed they are focusing on digital shopping
