A woman who had previously been reported missing was found dead near Interstate 10 on Wednesday, according to the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Police found Bonnie Fontenot while investigating a fatal hit and run around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. She died at the scene.

Fontenot was reported missing earlier this month and was last seen at the Lost Shoe RV Park last Friday.

The crash remains under investigation.
