SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Catelin Drey broke the GOP super majority in the Iowa Senate after winning Tuesday’s Special Election for the District One Senate Seat.

Many are pointing to a ground game that included democratic strategists from the local, state, and national levels.

By some accounts, tens of thousands of volunteers had a hand in the short 47-day campaign.

At her victory celebration Tuesday evening, Drey said workers knocked on doors in every precinct twice to promote her election bid.
