MURPHYSBORO — After years of talking, city officials say the time has come to move forward on a new police, fire and city hall complex, citing unsafe conditions, cramped quarters and outdated infrastructure in the current building.
Mayor Will Stephens said talk of replacing the building has been ongoing since he first took office, noting that the day after he was elected 12 years ago, a city staff member told him a new facility was needed.
