CHESTER, Ill. (KFVS) - It was a final farewell decades in the making for an innocent man wrongly convicted of a crime committed by a Heartland serial killer.

Grover Thompson’s family and those who worked to clear his name came together Saturday to honor his memory 29 years after his death.

Thompson has come to be known as serial killer Timothy Krajcir’s 10th victim. He was wrongly convicted of a violent Mt. Vernon stabbing, a case to which Krajcir later confessed.
