GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - One of Wisconsin’s GOP candidates for governor defended his plan to end training requirements for those seeking a concealed carry permit.

Whitefish Bay Manufacturing CEO Bill Berrien spoke to Action 2 News on Wednesday afternoon for a one-on-one just hours after the Minneapolis shooting.

To receive a concealed carry permit in Wisconsin, the state requires everyone applying to complete a firearms safety or training course taught by a certified instructor, organization, or law enforcement agency.

Bill Berrien said if elected, this is something he would attempt to do away with.
