MARINETTE, Wis. (WBAY) - A vigil on Wednesday night in Marinette honored the life of Jakob Bowerman, a 13-year-old boy with autism who died last week in a drowning.
Jakob’s mom tells Action 2 News her son was pushed into the Menominee River.
A 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man are currently being held in custody in connection with the boy’s death, with pending charges referred to the district attorney’s office.
It was a very emotional night for those honoring Jakob Bowerman at the candlelight vigil.
Action 2 News was told some of his friends and classmates came over to the vigil from his school’s open house, where Jakob likely would have joined them if not for last week’s tragedy.
Roughly 200 people walked out to Marinette Pier holding candles and wearing Jakob’s favorite color,
