GRANT COUNTY, Wash. -- The Grant County Sheriff's Office is sharing some safety tips for everyone planning to celebrate Labor Day weekend.
Before you travel, make sure your vehicle is in good condition, plan your route to allow extra travel time, carry an emergency kit in your trunk with essentials and always wear your seatbelt.
If you're grilling for Labor Day, keep the grill away from flammable materials, make sure to grill in a well-ventilated area, never leave the grill unattended, keep children and pets away and clean the grill regularly to prevent grease buildup.
The sheriff's office says to also check for propane leaks before use, keep the propane tank upright during transport and store it outdoors away from heat sources and ignition points.
