For five individuals, Wednesday afternoon marked an important milestone in substance abuse recovery. The 78th Drug Court graduation recognized five recovered addicts, as they officially finished 18 months of community-lead sobriety.
The graduates were Daphne Hays, Dwayne Ford, Jeremiah Terry, Joni Beemer, and Sonja Yowell.
To graduate from the program, participants are required to finish all five phases of the program, stay clean for a minimum of 120 days, hold full-time employment or enroll in an academic program, commit no new violations of the law, collect letters of recommendation, write an essay, and create a continuing care plan.
