SAN MARCOS, Texas — The Hays County Food Bank has officially reopened in a new, larger facility in San Marcos, offering expanded services and a more personalized experience for families in need.

The food bank is now located in the former Hays Co. Bar-B-Que restaurant, which has been renovated to accommodate food distribution and client services. The move marks a significant upgrade from the organization’s previous 2,200-square-foot house, to an 8,000-square-foot space.

"Our old facility - honestly, we grew out of it many years ago, so we've been searching for a while for an appropriate expansion,” said Lisa Young, Executive Director of Hays County Food Bank. "Our need skyrocketed, and since we’ve opened this building even, it has doubled."
