COLUMBIA — South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer called Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry a week before their two teams face off and told him he wasn't going to release a depth chart.

The Gamecocks open 2025 against the Hokies on Aug. 31 (3 p.m., ESPN) in Atlanta and while most teams released a depth chart on Aug. 25, Beamer and South Carolina did not. Pry did.
