Wednesday will mark 60 years since an alleged UFO sighting threw New Hampshire into the national spotlight.

Decades after the infamous “Incident at Exeter,” the town has embraced its place in UFO lore. The two-day Exeter UFO Festival returns Saturday and Sunday, bringing together enthusiasts, skeptics and curious visitors alike for a weekend of storytelling, live panels and community activities focused on the paranormal and unexplained.

“A large part of our festival is designed for kids and families,” said Bob Cox, vice president of the Exeter Area Kiwanis Club, which has organized the event since 2009. “Our goal is to provide two fun-filled days for the community, (and) our proceeds to go to local and children’s charities.”
