Trustees in Bazetta Township are looking to be proactive with the community's future.

On Wednesday, Trustee chairman Michael Hovis said an updated 10-year plan will replace the township's current comprehensive plan.

"We formed a committee, from that committee we started having meeting and we started gathering information from our residents to see what they're looking to have in this comprehensive plan," said Hovis.

The plan is a snapshot of current conditions in the community: evaluating land use, zoning appropriations for both residential and commercial uses, as well as infrastructure such as water and sewer lines needed. A planning method that will help decision makers anticipate the the township's future and be able to provide for its needs.
