HOOVER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A group of newly elected and current Hoover City Council members are calling for a comprehensive audit of the city’s finances following concerns raised by a previous forensic review.

Councilman-elect Robin Schultz says he and several colleagues plan to introduce a resolution requesting an immediate, independent forensic audit by the Alabama State Auditor’s Office once they are sworn into office in November.

“People need to understand that we do have an issue that needs to be looked at,” Schultz said. “It may be nothing. It may be something, but we won’t find out until we actually look at it.”

The push comes after a forensic report conducted by the firm Kroll uncovered signs of possible financial mismanagement.
