WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) - State troopers are investigating after a Fremont man was killed and a 10-year-old boy was seriously injured in a Sandusky County crash on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at 4:36 p.m. along US-20, just west of State Route 51 in Washington Township.
According to investigators, a 2013 Nissan Versa was heading east on the highway when it drove across the center median and went off the north side of the road.
The car then struck a mailbox and a barn before it came to a stop, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The driver, identified as 44-year-old Ernesto Chavez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
