CLEVELAND (WJW) - Bionca Ellis now says she is not guilty by reason of insanity as she faces charges for stabbing and killing an innocent child in a North Olmsted parking lot in 2024.

Her attorneys, Fernando Mack and Carlos Johnson, filed a motion in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, asking the court to accept her plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

"Defendant Bionca Ellis, through undersigned counsel and pursuant Crim.R. 11(A) and R.C. 2943.03(E), hereby moves this Court to enter a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity (“NGRI”)," the motion states.
