MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A 76-year-old woman was killed when she was run over by a golf cart in a backyard in Summerfield Wednesday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

FHP says around 3:30 p.m., a 75-year-old woman from Orange Springs was traveling in a golf cart south in the backyard of a property located in the 14800 block of Southeast 52nd Court.

The 76-year-old woman was standing on the east side of the second fence on the south end of the yard.

The woman in the golf cart ran over the 76-year-old, FHP said. The victim's injuries were fatal.
