ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A student is in custody after a gun was fired in a bathroom at a private Christian school in Spalding County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Around 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a shot fired in a bathroom at Skipstone Academy, a private Christian K-12 school on Baptist Camp Road in Griffin.

Deputies entered the bathroom where staff said the gun was fired and reportedly found a student inside. They took the student into custody and seized a firearm.

No students were injured, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the student in custody left a suicide note.

“The student involved left a suicide note intending to kill himself, but thank God he did not, and no other students were injured,” deputies said i
