ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Trinket Lewis remembers why she opened More Lyfe, a juice bar on Cascade Road in Atlanta, in 2022.
“I think the community needed it. I lived in the community and I needed it and I wanted it,” said, Lewis.
More Lyfe is just one of the many small businesses on Cascade Road. Lewis said she had seen a big drop in sales over the last two years.
“I do remember looking outside the door and I would be like it’s 3 o’clock, 4 o’clock, and the streets would be empty like a ghost town,” she said.
Owners in the neighborhood say it was the never-ending construction that impacted their bottom line.
“Typically when they’re blockage they reroute you. The challenge is, the way the neighborhood’s designed. you really had to go all the way out to come back in,” said Le
