SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - We’re now less than five days away from Notre Dame’s first regular season game of the 2025 season, which is coming up on Sunday night at Miami.

And of course, the biggest topic is quarterback CJ Carr, who is getting his first exposure on a national stage.

Carr is making his first career college start in this season opener. He’s a redshirt freshman after being a highly touted prospect coming out of Saline High School in Michigan.

He’s actually been with the team since December 2023 since he graduated high school early. And now close to two years later, he finally has the keys to the offense.

The decision to name him starter was made just a little over a week ago as he beat out Kenny Minchey in fall camp.
