A former Greensboro employee fired over allegations of misusing city resources is considering taking the city to court.
Former Greensboro Knowledge Management and Lobbying Coordinator Shannon Stevens confirmed she was speaking with an attorney and considering legal action in a LinkedIn message on Tuesday.
Stevens, whose job duties included managing legal technology, coordinating lobbying efforts and assisting with city litigation, was one of two employees in the City Attorney’s Officer who were recently dismissed. Legal Services Manager Jennifer Smith-Sutphin was the other.
The two women were fired for the same reason: inappropriate use of city resources in a way that conflicted with city standards.
