Russian missiles have inflicted severe damage on the British Council offices in Kyiv during a recent attack that has drawn widespread condemnation. The strike occurred on Zhylyanska Street as part of a larger assault on the Ukrainian capital, which resulted in the deaths of 15 individuals, including four children.

Footage from the scene shows the aftermath of the missile strike, which Russian sources claim hit the British Council while a dozen people were inside. This assertion has not yet been verified by official sources.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has denounced the attack, labelling it "senseless" and accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of "killing children and civilians". In a statement shared on social media, Starmer expressed his condolences, stating, "My thoughts are with all those affected by the senseless Russian strikes on Kyiv which have damaged the British Council building. Putin is killing children and civilians, and sabotaging hopes of peace. This bloodshed must end."

The attack has left more than 45 people injured, with local reports indicating that additional individuals may still be missing.

In response to the assault, the British Council released a statement confirming that their office sustained significant damage and will remain closed to visitors until further notice. They assured that despite potential delays in communication, they will continue their collaboration with Ukrainian partners in education and culture.
