Neither Canadians nor Americans are entirely sure what to expect at border crossings. Some have reported that it is business as usual, while other travelers have detected changes in recent months. One person claims they were asked a question "for the first time since 1997" during a crossing related to their daughter's status in the U.S.

We have seen other examples, such as Canadians being asked about their previous trips at Buffalo border crossings . A Canadian couple was asked about their journey to the Middle East. Again, some made mention that this type of questioning is entirely typical.

Blue Water Bridge made an announcement of its own back in May, advising Canadians and Americans that "unusual activity" would be taking place at the border. This created more fear among travelers
