APOPKA, Fla. —

A Florida man says he was attacked by a young bear on the front steps of his own home.

The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission said they are investigating the incident, which happened on Aug. 15.

Alexander Rojas shared doorbell camera footage that showed some of the moments before he says he was attacked.

He said he was locking his door around four o'clock in the morning when he saw what looked like two juvenile bears in his yard.

"For some odd reason, he turned around, did more stutter steps towards me and bit my arm and then clawed my rib cage," Rojas said. "I was able to kick his feet out and knock him in the nose."

He was able to get away and kept running down the street in their neighborhood, not far from Wekiva Springs.
