ST. CHARLES — Two years after saying this term would be his last, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann is considering another run for the post next year.
Ehlmann first told KMOX (1120 AM) Wednesday morning he was reconsidering a run for St. Charles County Executive, a position he has held since 2006.
He confirmed to the Post-Dispatch he was considering running in next year's August Republican primary for another term, a reversal from his June 2023 announcement that he would forgo a sixth term.
"I've had people say, from the first day I said I didn't want to run again, 'you sure?'" Ehlmann said in an interview Wednesday.
A lot has changed in the last couple of years, he said, including his own health.
