CLEVELAND, Ohio — Parker Messick is off to about as good a start as one could hope for since joining the Guardians last week in Arizona. The rookie left-hander earned his first big league win on Tuesday with seven shutout innings after allowing just one run in 6 2/3 frames during his debut.

A second round pick out of Florida State in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft, Messick was Cleveland’s No. 12 prospect according to MLB Pipeline when he was promoted.
